Here is the second submission from the new Luminarium pack this image is part of a 3-4 part project based on the forerunners from the Halo games, this was inspired mostly from the new game Halowars which is awesome. It shows a dyson sphere type construct which is earthlike on the outside but very hostile as almost all the surface is ice, however inside is a lush utopia with its own artificial sun.
To the left you can even see one of the moons being mined for resources to build the huge thing, me thinks they will be needing some more moon.

Shield World Construction is, quite simply, probably one of the best pieces of artwork I have seen on deviantART. The detail that Phoenix-06 has put into this piece is absolutely astounding, the shading is beatiful, I just cannot find a single major thing wrong with this art! I love the way that you can see the framework of the sphere, and inside to the sun and utopia at the center.
Maybe to improve the contrast on the inside of the artificial planet could be increased, because it took me a while to realize there was land and sea in there.
The Artist thought this was FAIR

thats just wow - the whole scenario along with the extremly detailed work is just stunning. No matter how often you look at the picture - you still can find new details you didn't recognize earlier.
I especially love the stars, the bright light that falls on the planets and the structure of both of them.
I never was a big fan of SciFi or the universe in general but this changes my point of view.
I only gave the originality a 4 because I've seen many pics that contain such a theme but non the less it's still something refreshing and new done with a great sense for a good ankle and -as said- much love for the detail.
Very great work from a very talented artist!

I've been waiting for this! It's gotta be my favourite of the Luminarium's current pack (yeah, I'm bold enough to pick a favourite, last time it was one of ~Pr3t3nd3r's ones :XD: amazing concept and well illustrated. I love the coils of gas around the polar regions of the "Sun" too :sun:
