The latest image from a game trailer I have been working on for some time now, you have seen the 6 preview images as well as the other large image Derelict. This scene depicts the strange and dangerous alien race known as the Naraku, a living space organism, sounds bad already, these suckers rip ships apart and eat people. Giant space squids.

I've always hated Squids! :bleh: a giant one just draws the line :laughing: I'm always intereste dhow you get such 3D-looking spaceships and stations in 2D alone, do you draw the patterns for them flat and transform them into place :?

Picture is amazing, but one thing destroy the effect, I'm alking about top right corner. Ship bits under giant squid. Those are simply strokes :(
Maybe it was meant to look like that but I don't know, it don't work too well for me

The bits near the sun are actually a distant ship, they are all black due to the light, you wouldn't see much detail, maybe I could tone them down a bit.

I usually sketch them out first then use the polygon lasso tool to colour them in grey scale.

I highly doubt any organism living in space would be carnivorous as if it was there would be very little food for it. But...I find myself not caring. Great bit of art. :D
